Uncovering Soho House’s Dirty Little Secret

Words: Katie Glass
Everyone loves a bit of intrigue, so when we were recently told that Soho House has a dirty little secret (and not much else!) we couldn’t help but dive into the back streets of Soho to find out more. And when we found ourselves ushered down an alleyway and past the bins, we still didn’t know what to expect, right up until we caught a tempting whiff of the grub being rustled up by Soho House’s hot new burger shack, Dirty Burger.
Having popped up in a few quirky locations on its travels through London, Dirty Burger has finally hit Kentish Town with a hearty amount of attitude and sauce. If you’re getting a little tired of the pricey science-art-food combos in the London gastro scene right now, this place may just be the perfect antidote. Nestled ‘round the back’ in corrugated iron and concrete, Soho House’s newest addition serves up excellent burger-based grub for a refreshingly decent price.
Deceptively basic, Dirty Burger’s chefs have spent months planning the perfect burger and crinkle cut fries. Served with a bottle of beer or a classic shake, the whole experience is oh-so-naughty but oh-so-nice. The deliciously salty deep-fried red onions are enough to make a grown man weep with joy.
Open from 7am on weekdays until 1.30am on Friday and Saturday, they’ve got all angles covered. But seeing as the ‘Dirty Breakfast’ bap includes bottomless tea/filter coffee, I’ll put my money on Dirty Burger becoming the new perfect place to take stock after a messy night out. WIN.
